BIOGRAPHY

Prof. Dr. Peter Birkner is the Managing Director of the House of Energy, a think tank and competence centre dedicated to shaping sustainable energy systems. He collaborates with policymakers, scientists, and industry leaders to drive innovation in Europe’s energy transition.

Peter is also Honorary Professor at Bergische Universität Wuppertal, where he teaches electrical power supply systems and mentors postgraduate research. His expertise bridges academia and practice, supporting the efficient and effective development of next-generation energy infrastructure and renewable integration.
