Europe’s push to electrify commercial transport has entered a decisive phase. EO Charging and Austrian technology firm KEBA have announced a strategic partnership aimed at speeding up fleet electrification across key European markets, with depot charging at the center of the plan.

The partnership, unveiled in November 2025, will begin rolling out in Sweden, Italy, the Benelux region, and the United Kingdom. France and parts of Central and Northern Europe are next. The timing reflects a broader shift as operators move from pilot projects to full scale deployment.

For logistics firms and delivery companies swapping diesel vans for electric models, the real test is no longer buying vehicles. It is making sure they charge reliably, every night, without disrupting operations. Charging has evolved from a background utility into critical infrastructure that shapes uptime, route planning, and operating costs.

The alliance brings together EO Charging’s network management software and KEBA’s industrial grade hardware to create a unified depot platform. Large fleets running dozens or hundreds of vehicles need more than plugs. They need intelligent load management, real time oversight, and the flexibility to expand without overloading the grid or stalling vehicles before morning dispatch.

Both companies framed the deal as a response to rising pressure on transport operators to decarbonize. European climate targets and national regulations are tightening, but market forces are equally powerful. Retailers and logistics giants are setting their own deadlines for fully electric fleets within the decade, forcing infrastructure to keep pace.

Analysts see depot charging as one of the most promising growth areas in Europe’s EV market. Predictable vehicle schedules and long term service contracts offer stability, attracting utilities, oil majors, and independent charging providers eager for a foothold.

Obstacles remain, including grid constraints and differing national standards. Still, the trajectory is clear. As electrification accelerates, partnerships like EO Charging and KEBA aim to turn charging infrastructure from a potential bottleneck into a competitive edge for Europe’s fleet operators.
